National Group Retail Manager

Jobs like this one don’t come up in Christchurch very often….this is an exciting opportunity for a senior Regional Manager or National Manager to join a growing company as their Group Retail Manager. Our client is looking for a senior retail operator to take charge of their retail operations across the country.

Reporting directly into the Managing Director, you will oversee all New Zealand stores, driving sales results while recruiting, training, succession planning and developing the retail team. This is a small but expanding business which is currently experiencing exciting growth. As a strategic thinker and experienced retailer, your ideas and suggestions around improving the retail operations will not only be heard but executed as well.

As with all national roles, there will be travel to the regional locations, however this supportive company believes in a work-life balance so you will never get to know the air-hostesses on a first name basis!

Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to;

• Driving the sales and KPI’s across all retail stores, ensuring the managers are equipped with the knowledge and training they need to succeed
• Identify areas of opportunity across the retail group and implement processes to improve efficiency and streamline operations
• Recruit, train, develop and lead the retail team to success
• Ensure all visual merchandising directives are successfully executed across all stores and in a timely manner
• Be a brand ambassador and champion new directives, inspiring your team to follow suit
• Manage the overall financial performance of the retail group

To be successful in this role you will be;

• It is essential that you are an experienced Senior Retail Regional Manager or National Manager, ideally in apparel, accessories or home-ware and gifts.
• Have a proven track record of leading a region of 7-15+ stores, including regional locations
• Be sales driven and able to coach your retail team towards successful results
• Be a strategic and innovative leader who can identify areas for improvement and implement new systems
• Have a commercial acumen and a sound understanding of retail
